  • Pronunciation: Rehoboth is a three syllable word with the stress placed on the second syllable. Pronounced ruh-HOE-buth or ree-HOE-buth. See a more extensive pronunciation analysis here.
  • Origin: In the valley of Gerar, Isaac dug several wells. As each well was opened, it caused an argument with the Philistines who lived in the area. The first two wells were named Esek (quarrel)and Sitnah (enmity); In each case, Isaac moved on to a new location. The third well was named Rehoboth (wide open spaces) for no one quarreled over it. Isaac said, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land." (Gen 26) We hope that Rehoboth Academy provides room for its families to provide for the education of their children as God directs. We pray that it will be a source of refreshment and a place where our children will flourish.
